In preparation for an aggressive 2010 entry into the U.S. commercial
Nissan offered a peek at its NV2500 Concept commercial van. Nissan calls the NV2500 Concept an "idea lab" intended to develop a mobile office with multi-purpose workspaces. Built on a Nissan Titan frame, it features a computer workstation, fold-down conference table, numerous storage compartments, cargo and tool tie-down racks and an awning-style side panel that opens to create an outside workshop table. When the production version of the NV2500 reaches the market, it will be the largest vehicle ever offered in the U.S. by Nissan. Nissan's commercial van lineup will start with the introduction of three all-new products in three years. The three are designed specifically for the North American market and will be built at Nissan's manufacturing facility in Mississippi. In addition, the company will offer three other commercial products now sold in other countries. The biggest will feature a Class Five (up to 19,500 pounds) gross vehicular weight rating (GVWR).
