Chrysler's go-fast group has just revealed its latest exercise in enthusiast-grade thinking. Dubbed the Mopar '11 Charger, this limited-edition overachiever matches distinctive visuals with HEMI power and the Super Trac Pac option to yield a Dodge sedan capable of delivering serious adrenaline rushes on demand.

To properly establish its character, each of the 1,000 Mopar '11 Chargers will come finished in Pitch Black set off with Mopar Blue racing stripes. Complementing that suitably sinister look are unique 20-inch Envy wheels finished in gloss black and wrapped in 245/45 Goodyear F1 Supercar tires plus Mopar badges on the nose and tail. Mopar '11 Charger kit on Special Edition models will also include a rear spoiler.

Inside, these distinctive Dodge variants feature unique black Katzkin-covered, Mopar-logoed seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, both accented with Mopar Blue contrast stitching. Bright pedal covers, premium floor mats, engine-turned instrument bezel trim, a unique dash ID plaque and a custom Mopar key fob badge and door sill trim round out the roster of cabin changes.

Underhood, the Mopar '11 Charger's 5.7-liter makes 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of peak torque. It's fitted with a unique engine controller that optimizes output to better match the capabilities of the downstream hardware, which consists of Chrysler's well-proven five-speed AutoStick automatic transmission that features a new Pistol Grip handle and a deeper 3.91:1 rear-differential gear. Collectively, they serve up 0-60 mph times in the five-second range. Larger front/rear anti-roll bars coupled with front/rear shock tower braces improve overall handling of the Mopar '11 Charger while upgraded ABS brakes with larger vented rotors endow its with greater stopping power.

The Mopar '11 Charger goes on sale this summer and will start at $39,750. That price of entry will include a personalized owner kit that includes a certificate with the vehicle identification number (VIN), exact date of manufacture and the number of the vehicle as well as a brochure that highlights the unique features of the vehicle and an assortment of exclusive Mopar '11 merchandise.
