Long-term Suzuki Equator: Fill Bed, Save Planet, Rinse & Repeat

As our days are winding down with our long-term Suzuki Equator, we've been trying to get as much out of it as possible. We've taken it off-roading, we've gone on road trips, but most of the time it's just our daily driver. But the beauty of the Suzuki Equator is that it can be an around-town car as well as an off-roader and hauler. And everyone has needed a truck at one time or another -- just ask a truck owner how often they've gotten free pizza for moving a couch for a friend. And one task that begs for a truck like the Equator is taking hundreds of pounds of bottles and cans to the recycling plant. Since we first picked up our Equator six months ago, it has been to the recycling center a half-a-dozen times, and we can safely say that it makes recycling less of a hassle than when we were using our crossover SUV. The Equator's large bed lends itself to being filled with the stinky, overflowing bags of plastic and aluminum, and the truck sits at the perfect height to be able to grab the bags with your feet still firmly planted on the ground. And if you're like us and need more room than the bed allows, it's easy to flip up the rear seats and store more bags behind the driver. We just recommend leaving the windows open -- putrid milk jugs aren't something you want to smell while driving the Equator.
