The rough-and-ready Jeep Wrangler JK has just chalked up another historic production record. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the one-millionth example of a Wrangler JK rolled off the assembly line this week. The specific example, a black 2013 Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition is headed to a customer in Sarasota, Florida.

Speaking at a celebration held in the factory, Mauro Pino, Chrysler Group's Vice President of Vehicle Assembly Operations noted "Every Jeep Wrangler sold to customers around the world is born in Toledo, Ohio. Since this facility opened eight years ago, the Toledo workforce has built every one of those million vehicles with pride, passion and a focus on quality. We all look forward to building the next million."

Created to be the most capable production Jeep ever, and named after the most demanding off-road trail in the U.S., the Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition is available in either 2-door or longer-wheelbase 4-door Wrangler Unlimited variants. It features the same 285-horsepower Pentastar V6 engine and all of the Trail Ready goodies found on the regular Wrangler Rubicon -- including heavy-duty Dana 44 front and rear axles, a Rock-Trac NV241 two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio, electric front/rear locking differentials, disconnecting front sway bar and 32-inch tires. However, it also boasts a host of additional functional upgrades that help it get down and dirty with even more of a vengeance. Its key upgrades include unique winch-capable steel bumpers with removable end caps, Mopar protective rock rails, BF Goodrich KM2 OWL on/off-road tires on custom 17-inch alloy wheels, and a more capable 10.5-inches of ground clearance. While playing hard is its forte, the 2013 Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition is no slouch when it comes to creature features, either. Standard kit on that front includes unique leather upholstery, an Alpine Premium Audio System and Uconnect infotainment, along with the appropriate selection of custom badges.
