Even though an all-new successor is due for reveal in Detroit next month, the Ford Fusion continues to reach out to buyers in unprecedented numbers. Since its redesign in 2006, the popular mid-size sedan has gone on to raise its sales totals in each successive year, generating a cumulative increase of 54 percent in the 2006-2010 window. Available since 2010 with a choice of conventional gasoline engines or gas/electric hybrid power and offering front- or all-wheel drive, the Ford Fusion has set new monthly sales marks for 13 of the last 14 months through November 2011. Ford anticipates that momentum will continue though the end of the year, putting the Fusion on a pace to sell 240,000 units for the first time in its history and making it Ford's best-selling passenger car for calendar year 2011.
"In addition to being a sales superstar, Fusion has been incredibly successful in attracting new customers to the Ford showroom," said Samantha Hoyt, Fusion marketing manager. "Fusion is our top conquest vehicle, as 40 percent of Fusion buyers are new to the Ford brand."
