Dubbing it "the world's first electric luxury/sports automobile for an active and eco-friendly lifestyle," Henrik Fisker unveiled a new variation on the original Karma theme. "The Surf is a first-of-its-kind eco-friendly lifestyle vehicle that offers space, performance and luxury design for people who live an active, environmentally conscious lifestyle and like to drive beautiful cars," said the CEO/Executive Design Director of Fisker Automotive.

Like the Karma, the Fisker Surf is fitted with a powertrain that matches an electric motor with an internal-combustion range extender. Developing 403 horsepower and 981 lb-ft of torque, the Karma is capable of traveling 300 miles - 50 in pure EV mode - and can run 0-60 mph in 5.9 second. While yet to be confirmed, performance stats are expected to be largely the same for this new variant that brings together the best aspects of a sports car and a station wagon. According to Fisker, the Surf will be available in all of its current markets around the world for the 2013 model year.
