Today, 33 years after introducing its original Quattro all-wheel-drive model, the 5-millionth vehicle equipped with Audi's iconic all-weather technology rolled off of the main production line in Neckersulm, Germany. The honor of that distinction goes to a white 2013 Audi A6 Allroad 3.0 TDI model.

"Quattro is one of the key pillars of our brand and has been a critical factor in our successful history," said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. "The Quattro permanent all-wheel drive makes it possible to directly experience our 'Vorsprung durch Technik' ('progress through technology').  We are committed to our pioneering role and will continue to develop this advantage with new technologies."

Today, Audi offers various forms of Quattro all-wheel drive on every model in its corporate lineup. It's currently a standard feature on the Q7, R8, A4 Allroad, and A6 Allroad as well as all S and RS variants. Last year, over 43 percent of all Audis sold came with a Quattro-fortified drivetrain.
