Making its official debut in Geneva, the 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport will serve as the middle child of the automaker's sporty new coupe family, slotting between the standard RC 350 and the hot Lexus RC F. While sharing the same 306-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission as the base RC 350, this enthusiast-grade step-up arrives in the U.S. this fall with its own unique suspension enhancements as well as distinctive interior/exterior tweaks.
Visually, the new RC F Sport gets a model-specific "F-mesh" blackout insert in its signature spindle grille and wears bespoke 19-inch alloy wheels with a machine finish complemented by dark metallic paint. Inside, the new RC F Sport features a variation of the LFA-style instrumentation that includes the trick "driver's meter" with its movable/reconfigurable center ring display as well as exclusive Rioja Red interior trim and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
On the dynamic front, the new RC 350 F Sport comes with the automaker's Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) that automatically adjusts the shock settings at each wheel to minimize unwanted body motion and maximize handling competence, particularly when the driver switches into in the Sport+ mode. Buyers also can opt to add the Lexus Dynamic Handling (LDH) system which brings Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) and Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) to the mix to further enhance turn-in, rear grip and overall agility in corners.
Pricing on the new 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport will be released closer to its on-sale date.
