Continuing its longstanding support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ford has created a unique 2015 Mustang 50 Years Convertible to be raffled off by the group on August 16th during the Woodward Dream Cruise. All proceeds will go towards the society's "No Opportunity Wasted" research project. This lone Mustang 50 Years convertible will be one of the first GT drop-tops to roll off the production line and will feature a number of the cosmetic and performance upgrades culled from the Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition fastback that debuted last month in New York.
Visually, the Mustang 50 Years convertible will be finished in 19641/2-vintage Wimbledon White and fitted with chrome accent elements, 19-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels that recall the original Mustang's chrome steel rims plus a "GT 50 Years" decklid badge. The cabin features two-tone cashmere/black leather covering the seats with matching loop-carpet floor mats. The dash sports aluminum trim and a plaque engraved with the signature of Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford and carrying the serial number "0001 of 0001." This ultra-rare Mustang will come with a leather-bound owner's guide that also carries a "50 Years" logo.
Like its fastback counterpart, the 50 Years Limited Edition convertible packs a 420-horsepower/5.0-liter V8 -- backed in this case by a 6-speed manual transmission - and will come with a performance pack that includes 19-inch Pirelli P-Zero summer tires, Brembo six-piston painted front brake calipers and a limited-slip differential.
A shot at winning the one and only 2015 Mustang 50 Years Limited Edition convertible will set you back $20 with tickets available through the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter and Ford Motor Company, while supplies last. Online orders can be placed at www.ford4ms.com on a 24/7 basis or by phoning 800-243-5767 between 8AM and 8PM EDT Monday through Friday.
