Preparing to kick off the marque's 100th Anniversary celebration this summer, the 2015 Dodge Challenger and 2015 Dodge Charger will be making their debut appearances at the New York Auto Show later this month. While withholding specific details, Dodge has now confirmed both will be sporting significant updates and upgrades as part of this mid-cycle refresh.
Drawing inspiration from its classic forebear, Dodge says the 2015 Challenger is "new from the inside out" and includes a new powertrain combination it promises will set enthusiasts "abuzz." Given that statement and the stylized bee-centric logo seen in the teaser pic, that motivation seems more likely to revolve around some variation of the new Mopar Scat Pack upgrade kits for the existing naturally aspirated 5.7-liter Hemi V8 rather than the much-anticipated supercharged 6.2-liter "Hellcat" Hemi alternative now under development.
Changes to the 2015 Dodge Charger will be even more extensive. Dodge says the revamp of this sporty sedan involves "a full body makeover" that will see nearly every panel re-sculpted to give the car a more contemporary appearance. It's believed the Charger revamp also could involve some cabin tweaks. Full details on both of these new Dodge vehicles will be revealed on April 17.
