Upping its game on every level, the 2015 Bentley Continental GT Speed gets its grand unveiling in Geneva. Available as a GT Coupe and GTC Convertible, this high-intensity two-door boasts even more muscle and a bolder visual character. Like other members of the Continental family, the 2015 GT Speed set also will be available with seven upgrade packages that allow for additional personalization.
The 2015 GT Speed's functional upgrade centers on a bump in output of its 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12. Horsepower rises from 616 to 626 while peak torque moves from 590 to a 605 lb-ft -- a new high for this engine. That added power increases the coupe's top speed to 206 mph, making it the fastest production Bentley ever. The revamped GTC Speed Convertible also is capable of double-century numbers, topping out at 203 mph. Like their current Speed counterparts, the 2015 variants feature an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel drive plus a stiffer, lower suspension and 21-inch Speed-specific alloy wheels.
On the cosmetic end, the Continental Speed features body-color finish on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser, plus a dark-tint treatment on the headlamps, taillamps and wheels. Rounding out the look are red-painted brake calipers, a stylish new "Speed" badge on the front fenders and a new Speed-signature Candy Red paint option. Inside, the cabin boasts its own new colors and trims plus a bounty of Speed indicia on the seats and dash - just to make sure you don't forget...
Bentley also announced a series of new "Specification" option packages for the entire 2015 Continental lineup that allow buyers to add an individual touch to their vehicles. The descriptively named list includes Premier, Interior Style, GT Classic, All-Season, Mulliner Driving, GT V8 Sport and Classic Mulliner Styling groups.
The 2015 Bentley Continental GT Speed and GTC Speed models are set to arrive here this fall. Pricing and EPA numbers will be released closer to the actual on-sale date.
