Although some specific timing and pricing blanks still need to be filled in, we now know that the all-new 2015 Audi A3 Sedan will open at $30,885 when it goes on sale here next spring. That number is virtually the same as its most direct rival-to-be, the just-introduced 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class. Intent on setting its own new benchmarks for the compact luxury segment, Audi will fit all A3 Sedan models with a full range of upline standards highlighted by leather upholstery, a panoramic glass sunroof, Bluetooth, bi-xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights and Audi's pre sense basic passenger-protection system. The A3 Sedan's option list will include a premium Bang & Olufsen audio package as well as Audi drive select, MMI technology, 4G LTE in-car connectivity and full LED headlamps - all premium features also found in the automaker's flagship A8 Sedan.
Initially, the new Audi A3 Sedan will offer buyers the choice of three 4-cylinder turbocharged/direct-injected engines. That mix includes 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter TFSI gasoline motivators as well as the 2.0-liter TDI clean diesel, all mated to a 6-speed S tronic automatic transmission. Like most Audis, the 2015 A3 Sedan also will be available in a standard front-drive configuration or optional Quattro all-wheel drive.
