While Infiniti's future identity will be based around vehicles that carry its new "Q" nomenclature, the automaker has confirmed that the existing G37 sedan will be an exception to the rule -- at least through the 2015 model year. Although its de facto long-term replacement -- the all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50 -- hits showrooms this week, it will share space with a simplified G37 lineup that's being repositioned to give Infiniti a better shot at reaching buyers across a wider swath of the entry-lux spectrum by using a two-pronged pricing strategy.
Under this new game plan, the 2014 Infiniti G37 lineup is being trimmed to just two models: the rear-drive G37 Sedan Journey and the G37 Sedan AWD. Now starting at $33,455 and $35,055, respectively -- $4,800 below their 2013 price points -- each can be had with only two options, the Premium and Navigation Packages. By comparison, the more heavily contented 2014 Infiniti Q50 opens at $37,605 and its Q50 Hybrid sibling starts at $44,855.
