While officially keeping all the technical info and a good deal of its cosmetic detailing literally under wraps for now, Lexus has released this mini teaser video that shows the new 2013 Lexus GS in action. Set to make its formal debut later this month at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the revamped sport sedan is aiming to take the GS to a new level of market presence. We can confirm that the next-gen GS350 will offer more dramatic style -- think LF-Gh Hybrid Concept from this year's New York Auto Show -- impressively upgraded interior appointments and even better handling, courtesy of revamps to both its standard suspension as well as with the optional Lexus Dynamic Handling System upgrade. Harder-line enthusiasts will have to wait for the next-gen F-Sport variant, which is expected to appear at the SEMA show in November.
While the 3.5-liter V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission from the current GS 350 are salted to carry over as standard powertrain elements, the electronic controls on both have been meaningfully tweaked to improve response in its 2013 successor. A new GS Hybrid also will be included in the mix, rumored to have the kind of eco-muscle that will see it effectively replace the existing V8-powered GS 460. More to come on August 18th at its formal reveal.
