Here’s a first look at the vehicle destined to reach showrooms next spring as the 2013 Infiniti JX Crossover. Although this official teaser shot is actually of the JX Crossover Concept that will make its first public appearance next month at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the well-finished one-off and its volume-build kin are expected to share a great deal in common. Infiniti also plans to release a new image of its first-ever seven-passenger luxury crossover each Thursday on the division’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Infiniti), as part of a dedicated "Power of 7" promotional campaign to raise consumer awareness of this upcoming addition to its U.S. lineup.
While this first image clearly confirms that the 2013 Infiniti JX embodies a sophisticated sense of exterior style that mixes boldness with aero-refined elegance, details regarding its powertrain, trim and pricing have yet to be revealed. However, like the Infiniti FX35/FX50, it’s expected to offer a choice of V6 and V8 power matched with a seven-speed automatic transmission and rear or all-wheel drive along with a megaload of upscale standards. Whatever the case, Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas, advises: "The new Infiniti JX will be the seven-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now."
