2013 Dodge Viper prototype takes to the snow

Although its launch won't come until late in 2012, Dodge has released this first "official" image of an early 2013 Dodge Viper pre-prototype blasting through less-than-ideal traction conditions -- the better to highlight news that stability control will finally be available, and standard, on the next generation of this completely redesigned iconic American supercar. Save for noting the first-ever inclusion of this technology on the Viper platform and that the SRT test mule seen here is actually based on a modified 2010 model, no other details about the car were offered. Among the many great, if still unconfirmed, expectations about the nascent 2013 Dodge Viper is that it will arrive with about 600-700 horsepower underhood, balance its prodigious muscle with a new measure of handling finesse and be an even more formidable competitor in any number of future high-performance comparison shootouts.
