Gaining a well-measured dose of enthusiast appeal, the 2012 Lexus CT-200h adds a new F-Sport Package to its options roster. While official photos have yet to be released, the F-Sport-equipped version will largely parallel the look of two earlier CT-200h concept cars like the one pictured here. Like the soon-to-launch production model, each drew their respective cosmetic and conceptual influences from the Lexus F-Sport Performance line of accessories.
Visually, the 2012 Lexus CT-200h F-Sport Package brings a bolder attitude to the game courtesy of a mesh front grille insert and larger rear spoiler while the sport-tuned suspension and unique 17-inch high-gloss alloy wheels with F-Sport center caps boost its handling prowess and overall responsiveness. Inside, cabin tweaks include seats trimmed in Black NuLuxe or perforated black leather, aluminum sport pedals, metallic dash trim, a leather shift knob, metal front sill plates and special "F-Sport" badges.
Available in standard and Premium model designations---although the F-Sport Package is only available on the latter---all versions of the 2012 Lexus CT-200h will continue to be powered by the same iteration of the Lexus Hybrid Drive system that makes 134 combined horses and serves up 43/40 mpg city/highway EPA ratings. The only change of note is the addition of a new Vehicle Proximity Notification System that emits a low warning tone to alert pedestrians and cyclists of its presence when the car is running in pure EV mode. All versions of the 2012 Lexus CT-200h will be available starting this fall, with pricing to be released closer to the on-sale date.
