Drawing inspiration from the Great Frozen North, the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic Edition rolls into the LA spotlight with a cool attitude and a host of dedicated cosmetic touches. Based, ironically enough, on the Wrangler Sahara, the Arctic Edition is available in Winter Chill, Bright Silver and Bright White, including its color-matched hardtop and fender flares. A black hood decal, Mopar black fuel filler door and taillamp guards, "Arctic" front-fender badges and a "Yeti Footprint" decal over part of the driver's side fender and hood are on hand to add graphic impact while the more-aggressive Wrangler Rubicon tire and wheel package, with unique semi-gloss black 17-inch wheels and 32-inch tires is available as an option for the more overtly adventurous.
Inside, the Wrangler Arctic -- and its upline Wrangler Unlimited Arctic sibling --brings heated front seats trimmed black Tectonic fabric with Polar White accents and orange accent stitching with the rear seat sporting an "Arctic" logo. Beyond additional orange accent stitching and Polar White grab handles and dashboard vent rings, these Arctic variants also get Mopar tread pattern slush mats with white "Jeep" lettering.
Like other models in the 2012 lineup, both of these Jeep special editions are fitted with the 285-horsepower/3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. On sale this month the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic starts at $32,669 while the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Arctic opens at $35,547.
