Helping celebrate its 25th anniversary, Honda's luxury division has created a new variation on the most affordable member of its lineup. Based on the Coupe model, the 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition builds on the basics -- including the standard 2.4-liter/201-horsepower i-VTEC four-cylinder engine and sport-tuned suspension -- and uses dedicated cosmetic flourishes to amp-up its curb-side presence.

Adding a bit more flash to its exterior, the 2012 Acura TSX SE boasts a more aggressive front spoiler, unique side-sill treatment and a redrawn rear soft fascia along with a special polished/dark grey combination finish on its 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels. A "Special Edition" badge on the decklid completes the look.

Inside, the Acura TSX SE benefits from a series of similar profile-elevating enhancements, starting with its exclusive black-perforated Lux Suede seat inserts, a black headliner, red lighting for the instrument cluster, overhead and footwell illumination, red contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob, aluminum pedal covers, and bright silver finish for the steering wheel-mounted shifter paddles.

Set to make its first public appearance next month at the Orange County International Auto Show, the 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition will roll into dealerships in late September. Like other members of the lineup, it will offer the choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic. While pricing is still being finalized, Acura advises that the new TSX SE is expected to start "under $31,000."
