Intent on broadening its appeal to reach out to more personal as well as commercial customers, the 2011 Ford Transit Connect XLT Premium Wagon rolled onto the scene at the LA Auto Show offering an even-more user-friendly take on the formula. Offering room for five plus a cavernous rear storage bay, this newest addition to the Transit Connect lineup provides improved second-row passenger comfort as well as enhanced trim for the cargo area. Other key feature upgrades that set this new "Premium" variant apart from the existing Ford Transit Connect XLT Wagon package include privacy glass, blind-spot sideview mirrors, a rearview camera, flip-open rear quarter windows and windows on the rear cargo doors.
Rob Stevens, chief nameplate engineer for Commercial Vehicles, said the introduction of the new XLT Premium Wagon was a direct response to the market demands. "Buyers looking for a taller wagon with seating for five passengers and generous cargo space have shown significant interest in Transit Connect." The 2011 Ford Transit Connect XLT Premium Wagon goes on sale next month and will start at $24,105.
