2009 Subaru Forester: The End of the Awkward Years

Beginning in 2008 we'll no longer have to debate whether the Subaru Forester is a short SUV or a tall wagon. The all-new, re-proportioned Forester is instantly identifiable as a compact CUV and competitor to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. An L.L.Bean Edition will again top the lineup, navigation will be offered for the first time and engine options will continue to include two 2.5-liter Boxer four-cylinder engines; one of them turbocharged and both revised to deliver more usable power. We've always found a lot to like in the Forester, and the new styling promises to attract the increased attention it deserves.
