In spite of its comparably clumsy convertible
top, the Pontiac Solstice outsells the Mazda
MX-5 and every other roadster in America. The addition of an attractive targa-topped coupe
promises to strengthen that sales lead. Removing the roof panel and storing it in the rear promises to be an even more time-consuming operation than folding the roadster's origami soft top, but so is the case with every other targa. Engine choices will include the same 173-horsepower and turbocharged 260-horsepower units offered in the roadster. Look for it in early 2009 at prices that should be in line with the roadsters'.
