2009 Mazda RX-8: If it Ain't Broke...

The list of mostly minor changes for the 2009 RX-8 (arriving Summer 2008) starts with new wheels, restyled front fascia and bumpers, and bigger exhaust tips. Interior enhancements include a redesigned center instrument panel, variable red-zone tachometer, new steering wheel and restyled seats. Mazda claims quicker acceleration in manual models via a lower differential gear ratio, while a trapezoidal strut tower bar promises slightly improved handling and road feel. A new R3 package includes a rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels, 300-watt Bose audio system, Bluetooth, fog lamps, Recaro seats, Bilstein shocks and remote start.
