2008 Pontiac G8: 385 Horsepower for $29,995

Billed as the most powerful sedan available for less than $30,000, the Pontiac G8 is the first rear-wheel-drive sedan from GM's excitement division in more than 20 years. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 good for 256 horsepower, 248 pound-feet of torque and seven-second sprints to 60 mph, according to Pontiac. The G8 GT boasts a 6.0-liter V8 producing 361 horsepower, 385 pound-feet of torque and zero-to-60 mph times of 5.3 seconds. The GT also features a six-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The G8 arrives early 2008 and will start at $27,595 ($29,995 for the GT model).
