2008 Maserati GranTurismo S: Too Much is Never Enough

If previous test drives of the GranTurismo have left you craving about 10 percent more horsepower, you're in luck. In place of a 405-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 (which propels the GranTurismo to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and to a top speed of 177 mph, according to Maserati), the GranTurismo S boasts a new 4.7-liter V8 delivering 440 horsepower. Helping to reign in the bonus ponies are the same Brembo brakes recently introduced on the marque's Quattroporte Sport GT S, which feature cast iron and aluminium "dual-cast" disks and six-piston calipers. No pricing yet, but a plain ol' GranTurismo starts at $110,000.
