The dynamic duo that was the M3 Coupe
and M3 Sedan
has become the fearsome threesome with the addition of the M3 Convertible
. The newest team member combines the retractable hardtop introduced on the 3 Series with the same lightweight, 414-horsepower V8 engine found in its fixed-roof M-badged predecessors. Transmission options include a requisite six-speed manual and BMW's new M Double Clutch automatic that promises big improvements versus the automaker's defunct SMG unit. The M3 Convertible will start around $66,000 when it arrives in showrooms this summer, but expect it to command a heavy price premium at the outset.
