Lane Departure Warning and Mitigation
Unintentionally drifting out of your lane can lead to a horrifying crash. In an effort to combat driver inattention, many manufacturers have introduced lane departure warning systems that alert the driver with an audible warning if their vehicle crosses lane markers without first signaling. More advanced systems go one step further, automatically adjusting the vehicle's direction of travel and helping return it to its lane. Such technology is like having a friendly ghost co-driver who's happy to intervene if you become distracted.
