Offering a new take on zero-emissions urban mobility, Honda is showing the diminutive 3R-C Concept in Geneva. Created in Europe at Honda's Research and Design facility in Milan, Italy, this semi-enclosed three-wheel single-seater is fitted with an electric motor and a compact battery pack mounted low in its chassis to help lower the center of gravity and improve dynamic stability.
The Honda 3R-C matches its "safety shell seat" that provides an extra measure of occupant protection from side impacts with flexible, low-rise bodywork that helps keep road debris and the natural elements at bay, as well. A transparent canopy effectively secures the cockpit of this stylish scooter when parked, but flips up to serve as its de facto windscreen when the 3R-C is being piloted about town. While not exactly scaled for weekend runs to the hardware store, the Honda 3R-C also incorporates a forward-mounted lockable storage bin designed to house a helmet or smaller luggage items.
