For the third time in the 17-year history of the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards presentation, only one manufacturer was called to the podium. The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid beat out the 2010 Buick LaCrosse and 2010 Volkswagen Golf for one trophy, while the 2010 Ford Transit Connect topped the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and 2010 Subaru Outback for the other.
Kelley Blue Book Executive Editorial Director Jack R. Nerad is one of the 49 automotive journalists in the United States and Canada who vote for the award, which is reserved for vehicles that are "all-new" or "substantially changed" from the previous model.
