Set to arrive at dealerships sometime in mid-2009, the second-generation, 2010 Chevrolet Equinox will boast two new mileage-making direct-injected engines and more efficient six-speed automatic transmissions. With a 182-horsepower four-cylinder engine good for predicted city/highway fuel economy of 21/30 mpg and a 255-horsepower V6 good for 18/25 mpg, the 2010 Equinox should end up near the top of its class economy stats. In addition, the revamped Equinox will offer a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. Also in its 2010 remix is a comprehensive cabin update that brings the five-passenger Equinox squarely up to 21st-century spec with a cleaner, more user-friendly character including available navigation, Bluetooth, dual-screen rear-seat entertainment, power liftgate and intelligent remote startup that can pre-warm the passenger compartment.
