The famous philosopher (and Eagles guitarist) Joe Walsh exaggerated when he sang in Life's Been Good, "My Maserati
does 185/I lost my license/Now I don't drive." Even with its horsepower raised to 433 for 2009, the new four-door Quattroporte GT S won't reach 185. (Joe: Please trust us.) That's partially because it has an electronic speed limiter to protect rock musicians and others with more money than sense (or the appropriate driving skills, perhaps). Other changes to the Sport GT S for 2009 include lower ride height, revised suspension springs and new shock absorber tuning. In addition, the $140,000-plus car has a new black grille and titanium-finish headlight surrounds. The 2009 Quattroporte Sport GT S also commemorates the 70th anniversary of Maserati's first of two wins in the Indianapolis 500, both with Wilbur Shaw at the wheel.
