2009 Nissan Maxima: Refocused on its Roots

With more curvaceous styling and the promise of greater performance, the seventh-generation Maxima was designed to reclaim the mantle of affordable four-door sports car. In addition to a 290-horsepower version of the familiar 3.5-liter V6 (up from 255 hp), the new Max features a more responsive continuously variable transmission and a reworked suspension. The sportier and more refined interior offers goodies like a music hard drive, traffic-info navigation system, Bluetooth phone connectivity and push-button start. Look for the 2009 Maxima to go on sale summer 2008 at a starting price approaching $30,000.
