At long last, an automaker has combined the inferior handling of a high-riding
SUV with the constrained cargo versatility of a low-slung
coupe. Or did
BMW finally unite confidence-inspiring ride-height with truly sporty style? What we know for sure is that BMW defines the all-new X6 as a Sports Activity
Coupe and will offer it with a choice of twin-turbo powerplants; a 300-horsepower six-cylinder or a new 400-horsepower V8. Handling is enhanced by a version of BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system that can vary torque distribution between the rear wheels. No pricing as of yet, but look for the
BMW X6 in mid-2008.
