GM Adds Hybrid Power to Full-Size Pickups

Full-size pickup trucks have to be versatile. In addition to transporting their passengers, they also need to tow and haul heavy loads. This makes designing a hybrid gasoline-electric drivetrain for such vehicles more challenging than designing a system for a passenger car. General Motors hybrid vehicle expert Stephen Poulos tells Kelley Blue Book how his company was able to accomplish this feat in the just-announced Chevrolet Silverado hybrid, plus he outlines other GM hybrid initiatives.
