"This car has a great deal to offer by way of comfort and convenience. It needs to be much better put together, window post covers falling, off mirror falling apart, can't close console storage area, etc. Engine is very strong and a bit hungry. Just traded for my 1997 Lincoln town car, which was much better put together, much more room. It also used regular fuel, big advantage."

Pros: "Easy to drive with lots of reserve power!"

Cons: "Uses about 1 qt oil per 2,000 miles."

"I am in sales and carried a lot of equipment (Surgical), so I carried a lot of weight. Mostly freeway miles and it always amazed me how it was so efficient and comfortable. I still get between 25 - 27 MPG and the info center is very accurate and coinsides with actual miles driven and gallons consumed."

"This car has been a great vehicle and maintained well. inside is basically perfect. Single man, no kids, no dogs no smoking, etc. Outside looks great as well. Never been in any accidents. May have a small engine leak going on... getting radiator checked out tomorrow Other than that its been a jewel. Well maintained locally. All records. Good tires. Photo to follow soon."

"This car has served me well for almost 12 years, I really don't want to part with it, but it's time. With all the new technology in the new cars, it's hard to do without it on my old car. I will really miss the comfort of "floating on air" because the new cadillacs just don't have the same feeling. There was a couple of calls to the dealership, early on in the first couple years. They had to do with the computer system and the environmental filters, but after a couple adjustments, everything went well. If I could, I would buy another just like it."

Like new with 108k miles, paid $4000

"The 2000-2003 Cadillac STS (and SLS) is hands down one of the best values out there in luxury sport sedans, IF it has had the head bolts replaced properly with the permanent studs. Not the "TimeSerts" for head bolts, but the stud kits. The engine is an engineering masterpiece with the exception of the head bolts. This engine is smooth, powerful and very efficient. When the head bolts have been properly replaced at a reasonably early mileage (before loose head bolts have caused any permanent damage caused by overheating), this engine will easily run 250-300k miles. The transmission is bulletproof to begin with, and will typically keep up with the repaired engine without a rebuild. The engine is designed to burn some oil, which is typical and necessary for the efficiency (up to 28 MPG on highway). A few other small items tend to fail, but are not expensive to fix. Overall I think was one of GMs best attempts."
