The DTS (formerly known as the DeVille) continues for 2007 relatively unchanged. Designed to appease traditional Cadillac buyers who may be turned off by the company's newer products, the DTS maintains a firm foothold in the soft-riding, moderate-handling category. With its long hood, six-passenger seating and huge trunk, the DTS is equally as capable of accommodating a foursome's trip to the golf course as it is a family's weekend retreat. Although pricing is well into Lexus territory, Cadillac feels the long list of electronic goodies on the DTS, coupled with its famed Northstar V8 engine, should be sufficient to keep brand-loyal customers from jumping ship. Who knows; as aging baby-boomers look for more comfortable means of transport, the DTS just may win over an entirely new generation.

"We bought our 06 DTS in 09 with 36K miles. Paid less than half the cost of a new one. After 2 years and several road trips, we are very happy with it. Great power, ride and average 25-26 MPG on the road(average speed 70-75). Issues so far were minor brake problems (now fixed), and slight rust on the underneath side of front passenger door(to be fixed soon). The tire pressure sensors are a little quirkey but at least when you get a warning message, you can also get the pressure in each tire on the fly and make your own judgement. All that remains is to see how well the car holds up when we pass 100K (and beyond)miles as we tend to keep our cars until they are ready for donation or junk yard. If all goes well, we will buy another."

"I love this car - I have owned 9 Cadillacs - Seville, Eldorado, Allante, Escalade - both EXT & SUV. This is the most comfortable of all of them - I really like the style. The Northstar engine gives this big car plenty of power with very good gas milage. I average over 20 city and highway combined and I am happy with that. My DTS has the lux package 2 - all these options really make this car fun to drive - heated and cooled seats - heated steering wheel - all the other options are fun too. Remote start great on hot and cold days. I guess I will say this might be the best car I have owned and this includes the SC430 Lexus. Hope this helps you decide on buying. Stonewall"

"I have the 2006 DTS Luxury III with 65,000 miles. This is the most comfortable car that compares to Lexus and Mercedes. The problem is that since about 40,000 miles I have had so much trouble with this car with the mechanics and especially constant electronic problems. The car is now in the shop almost every two weeks. Fortunately I purchased the extended 100,000 mile GM Major Guard warranty for $2,800 and I have had an unbelievable $12,000 in free extrended warranty work already by 65,000 miles! Do not buy this car unless you have a 100,000 mile warranty or you will be sorry! Comfort wise this car cannot be beat for ride, seat comfort and position. The car is somewhat quiet but there is room for improvement here!"
