"We purchased the car in 2006 as a lease return - with just 30,000 miles on it. My wife had a Caddy before this one, and that comfort and quality can spoil you a bit. A year later we gave my pickup truck to one of our business locations, and survived with only this car for the next 6 years. Nothing shows a customer that you can handle all the money they want to throw at you like showing up for meetings in a Caddy. The car is incredibly comfortable, with all the bells and whistles to make driving a pleasure. While it has plenty of power, the car is almost "too smooth". Over the last 6 months we've racked up nearly 20,000 miles in the car (we retired!) and it's the perfect car for ridiculous long road trips. Don't let the size fool you! We've managed 22 mpg on all of our trips! Personally I find it a bit boring to drive. Even when traveling cross country for a medical emergency - I ran it up to 100+ mph, just as smooth as 50 mph. The only real gripe I have is the ridiculous 60,000 mile engine rebuild that virtually every one of these cars requires. Thanks GM, I didn't have anything else to do with my $4000 - this would NOT be a problem with a Lexis - or even a Toyota for that matter. Obviously service and repairs are more expensive at a Caddy dealer, but our dealership was always fair with us. When it was time for the engine rebuild we got a quote from a local Chevy dealer - and the Caddy dealer dropped their price by $3000 to match it. Great car - especially if your using for low mileage running around town or for long road trips."

"with only 50,000 miles and purchased new, what a turkey. out of warranty, all power windows went out one by one. $2000 in repairs. A/C goes out, $1500. CV boots go out,$500. other miscellaneous engine problems $1500. dashboard is peeling up from sun/heat and mostly garaged. needed new brakes. oil leaks. one by one, everthing listed in consumer reports as bad is happening to this car. engine and transmission are next to go, unless i can sell the turkey before."

"Alot of people complain about Caddy's... poor quality, costly to repair etc, etc... but I have to say this one from the word go has been a dream. Yes it now has the customary 110,000 mile oil leak every GM on the planet has, for those not used to the big V8s.. check the valve covers and your oil pan gasket, chances are its one or both of those, and if you have the time thier easy to fix. Other then the Oil leak, the car has never broken down one time, and the only trouble I have had with it was due to bad gas, which a tank of high test and a few hundred miles later did'nt even warrent a trip to the mechanic. As for comfort, and convenience, it has everything you could ask for, cup holders galor, rear ash trays and heated seats everywhere. Both the front seats are also cooled. I must say I would love to buy another one brand new, but sadly GM has stopped making the big boys."

"I've been to three dealers and they all said I needed thousands of dollars worth of repairs at different points in time. To me nothing appeared to be wrong. I actually had a local shop check the left front hub ($600) and the water pump ($600)when I had 80K on the car. They couldn't find anything wrong. That was 45k miles ago and still no problem. Beware of any repairs recommend by the dealers."

"This auto handles like a dream. Corners precisely even at higher speeds. This car is "glued" to the pavement. The NorthStar performance is second to none. This engine has spunk. Gas mileage is averaging 19 city & 25 highway. Cadillac knows how to spoil its driver!!!Thanks GM!!"
