Cons: "Needs repairs often, but what used car doesn't?"

"Bought this car for size and comfort. Drove on long trip and fell in love with it. Made the trip a dream. Quiet and smooth with gas mileage surprisingly good. Have enjoyed the heated seats in front and back and all the extras that come with a luxury car. It has had a few mechanical problems...replacement of window motors, and replacement of tinting on windows, then other general maintenance repairs. It has been a good car and has provided me with the comfort I wanted in a luxury car. I am having engine problems now and so will repair them and have decided to purchase a new car after taking care of the current repairs. I want to be able to sell it in good condition. I am sure that the person who purchases it will enjoy all of it's bells and whistles too. I will miss it."
"Beautiful car-lots of problems. One week after I bought it engine light came on-had to replace engine air pump, connector and mount, also had to replace front motor mount-total $1248.99. Next item was rear air shocks-$418.50, next was front crossover pipe and water pump tensioner-$1030.00, next was oil pressure sending unit and switch-$265.00. Total repairs since April 21 of 2014 = $2697.49. Now have $10,000 invested in a $5,000 car. Scared of it now-consider it sold if I can find a buyer. Catalytic converter now rattling-needs replacing,"
"I 'inherited' this car from my Dad and will probably give it to my son in 3 years when he starts driving - can't get much safer, he loves Cadillacs. A testament to it's styling that it appeals to 3 different generations (82,48, 13). One of the most comfortable cars you'll ever drive. Only issues on mine are electrical - the cigarette lighter doesn't function so I can't charge my cell phone. Also had to replace wheels because the chrome coated wheels deteriorated causing seal with tire to go bad - had wheels repaired once but can't repeatedly do it (like brake rotors). If anyone knows how much it would cost to repair cigarette lighter/charger, let me know..."
