Excellent car,problem is Northstar engine.

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 88,000

Pros: "This a big luxury car,27mpg hwy;15.5 city.I love i"

Cons: "Northstar head gaskets and bolts."

"I like love Cadillacs.However,if I had known about the problems with the head gasket bolts on the Northstar,I would not have bought the 1999 model.I could find no one,including dealerships who'd repair the head gaskets.They told me options were new or rebuilt engine,$7000 to $9000.I tried ,over the course of a year 3 different head gasket sealers.I tried Duraseal twice.The one which finally sealed it was Bars Leaks head gasket sealer from Auto Zone about,$60.00.All told with labor,I spent about $500.00 on sealer.The only labor for Bars Leaks was to pour it in overflow tank and drive it."

Great Car, but expensive to repair.

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 180,700

Pros: "great to drive, very large comfortable interior"

Cons: "low gas mileage and expensive to maintain"

"I bought this car used in 2003 and have had it ever since. I put 100,000 miles on it in 9 years. Car is still in great condition, but expensive to repair."

"Great vehicle for comfort, style,ride reliability. Needs premium gasoline to perform its best. Gas milage about 15 mpg. Not economical but if you can afford to drive it, there is nothing like it for that smooth quiet ride."

Pros: "for the price you cant beat it it is luxury"

Cons: "city driving gets 16 miles to a gallon 93 octaine"

"this car drives like a dream and it is like sitting on a living room sofa no matter what seat you are in. its good on gas for an 8 cyl and its the best car ive owned and i have had 6 cadillacs cruise control level ride fully adjustable seats with seat warmers leg room enough for shaq in any seat.i cant really think of anything bad about this car it is absolutely incredible."
