"GM has taken the band-aid route on these engines. We timely had each of the 4 recalls on the engine completed. The last on March 25, 2016. The Engine caught fire on May 13, 2016 while trying to start the vehicle. The vehicle was parked on a residential street. The car had 107,000 miles on it."
"My first car was a Buick Regal. If I had not had an accident, I would still have this car. Such a comfortable ride and great power. The 3800 Series II V6 would smoke anyone at a red light. Definitely not a glamorous car, but I loved its classiness. All of my girlfriends hated it, but I didn't care. The only problems I had out of the car was the water pump, intake gasket, and coolant system hoses. Other than that, GREAT car. These problems, although expensive, didn't happen till over 100,000 miles."
"from the start, I loved the way it drove, the comfort, how quiet it is. the acceleration was surprising (not intending to, the tires squealed easily). the only complaint I have with my gs is that after all the years & miles it's started showing the wear. I kept the maint. up so the body is showing it's wear/tear but mechanical it's
great. I would drive it cross-country w/o any hesitation. man I love that car."
"Bought this care used at four years old with 17,000 miles on it. No accidents. Engine excellent and reliable. Grand Touring suspension is highly responsive and provides excellent control. Acceleration is surprisingly good for six-cylinder. Interior is OK (cloth with token leather on doors). GM's typical mix of high quality fabric, upholstery, with cheap plastic cup holder and storage. Always garaged. Mostly highway miles. Last MPG check was 28 MPG (all highway, no AC used) and around town 23 MPG (some AC)."
