"I was looking for a second "go to work" car and my budget was less than $5000. At that price range I knew I was looking at cars with some miles so I wanted a Honda or Toyota because of their good reputation for longevity. After weeks of searching through small dealerships and private sellers I realized both Toyota and Honda were beyond my price range, unless the vehicle had 200,000 miles on it! A friend who used to be a mechanic told me about Buick's 3.8 ltr V6 engine and it's robustness. I bought a 97 Park Avenue with 90000 miles for $3400. For the last 3 years,I thank my friend all the time because this car has been nothing but wonderful! The supercharged engine propels the big car like a torpedo and the transmission continues to shift flawlessly. It's a nice smooth ride that gets pretty good gas mileage for such a big car. I've had just normal wear and tear maintenance and I have little doubt this car will make it to 200,000 miles and beyond! Even my wife prefers to drive the Buick over our brand new mini cooper! If you need a solid, reliable car on a tight budget consider Buick."

"Best Car I have ever owned, and my second Buick Park Avenue. I bought the 1999 model because of the success and value I had driving my 1985 Buick Park Ave. I am still driving my current 1999, even though it has 198,000+ miles. It has been well maintained through the years and has just now, 2015, shown some rust discoloration along the inside edge of the door. I refuse to trade it in because at age 73 a retiree cannot afford the price of a new one. The only thing wrong is that the leather on the driver side is now beginning to wear out. I will keep this car until it no longer runs. I have no complaints other than that it is quite expensive to replace computer driven parts, such as the heating/cooling. It cost $500 in 2014 to get the heating/air conditioning - considering it had a 185,000 miles, not too bad a fix. I will drive it until it stops, just to see how far over 200,000 it will go. I plan to repair the leather seat rather than sell the car....Keefer"
