"newer brakes and brake lines, excellent tires, engine replaced @121,000 with engine with 92,000 on it. Serviced every 3,000 miles with synthetic oil since I bought it in 2004. Runs like a top. Have service records since I purchased it with 80,000 miles on it."

"I bought this car on my own -- it had 16,000 miles on it but looked and drove like a brand new car! It still drives wonderfully well.....right size for me and a passenger or two. Comfortable and safe........terrific"

"Body has some rust in two areas. Runs very good and clean. No leaks of any kind. This is the best car I have ever owned. You can trust it will start and get you safely where ever you need to travel."

Didn't have it long, and that's fine with me!

Pros: "Kinda cushy, compared to economy cars. Roomy."

Cons: "Boatlike, stodgy. I'm too young for this Buick!!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"To be fair, it wasn't the right car for me in the first place: I got it used at a great price. My other cars have been: '78 Civic and '84 Corolla (both bought new), '67 MGB, '68 VW Camper. I'm replacing this Buick with a 2004 Corolla: better mileage, easier to park, much less stodgy. It did strand me a few times, but it had not been really well maintained by DPO. I really have an issue, though, with the lousy interior design. Too easy to accidentally leave dome light on and run down battery; stereo had stupid detente settings so we could never get the volume where we wanted it; etc., but the STUPIDEST thing was the hazard light switch - difficult to find and even harder to engage, but easy to turn off. etc. It had 97k on it when totaled. It had been a rental for the first 25k. I only put about 15k on it: it was an okay second car to my VW."

Pros: "Reliable,comfortable, lots of power!"

Cons: "Granny car. Needs better mpg."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This is my wife's car she got from her mother. This car has been very reliable and low cost in maintenance. The only exception is the intake plenum at 75,000 or so miles (as is common with the 3800 Series 2 engines). I have also replaced water pump (which was kind of tricky), alternator, battery, fuel pump, brakes, and tires. Aside from general maintenance and taking into consideration it's age (almost 20 years old)and mileage, this is one of the best ever owned. Rides like a Cadillac, but accelerates like a Camaro! This was definitely made to be an interstate cruiser. A/c blows ice cold, heat works good. A set of struts and it will be good to go!"

"If not for a recent accident we would still be driving this car. How many cars with 388,000 miles burns 1/2 qtr. of oil in 3,000 and gets 27 to 30 mpg on the highway? Have things broken, Yes but repairs are reasonable on this model and the ride, its a Buick. You can buy these cars for 2 to 3 thousand in excellent shape, I don't think you can do better."
