"Buyer beware these are great cars to drive i love eveything about it but when the warranty runs out might consider getting something else. This vehicle will cost you a fortune in repairs. There is a water line in the 4.4 engine that goes bad high dollar repair. Oil leaks everywhere 300.00 at a local shop for valve cover gaskets. There seems to always be something wrong with that engine. Have been told if I had got the 6 cylinder wouldnt have had all these problems. If you can spend about 1200.00 avg.a year on repairs go for it. Its a shame BMW didnt make a more quailty V8."
"Very unreliable. Purchased used approximately one year ago and already spent nearly $4000 in repairs. Recent repair cost over $2000 for a brake master cylinder and brake booster. And this is after we had brand new brake lines done. These "bmw"s are not manufactured in Germany. They are assembled in Spartanburg North Carolina. Transmission is a GM, not bmw. We will never buy another German car, they are very unreliable, expensive to maintain, and very over-engineered leading to costly repairs. Stick with a Japanese car."
"Really amazing car. Works well on and off road, and in very poor, snowy conditions. Tough, but complicated. It's hard to maintain yourself, because of its complexity. It handles crisply and with BMW precision."
