If you want a small SUV with luxury amenities and European badge appeal, the BMW X1 may just be your ticket. The 2013 X1 also promises better fuel economy and spunkier performance than larger SUVs.
Need room for more than five passengers or just something more child-seat friendly with room for extras? The X1 might be a little too compact. Also keep in mind that the X1's price can easily balloon
BMW's tagline – "The Ultimate Driving Machine" - is no joke and despite the fact that it's an SUV, the X1 is no exception. The little crossover effectively blurs the line between being a comfortable low-speed cruiser and a high-speed corner carver as it's plush enough for the daily drive, but can handle any turn with graceful agility. The X1's smaller size and lighter weight make it feel exceptionally more agile than its X3 bigger brother and athletic prowess makes for a far more exciting drive as compared to the

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 3,300
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "performance, mpg, just the right size, Value"
Cons: "cup holders, RFTs"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I have the sdrive M Sport Line fully loaded for about 3 months and loving it so far. Pros: The x1 1) handles great(so close to the 3 Series sedan), 2)looks really nice (with the M Sport Line it just looks like a mini x5 M), 3) gets great gas mileage (I average 28.6 mpg - 40% city/60% highway), and 4) is the perfect size for me and my family (we are all no teller than 6' so plenty of room even sit 3 in the back and it fits most of the parking space in the city) 5) Value (Mine comes around $45k MSRP so it's seriously not cheap; but well worth it though) Cons: 1) Cup holders (let's just skip that. We all know BMW don't really care about cup holders, do we?) 2) Run Flat Tires (When will BMW get rid of those heavy, noisy, and expensive RFTs) Test drove the Audi Q5, Acura RDX, and Merc GLK but nothing came close to the x1 in term of performance and driving dynamics. The x1 drives more like a Sedan than SUV. For SUV shoppers, if you want more Sport than Utility, I can tell you no other SUVs can do better than the x1."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 600
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Good price, fun to drive, quick, handling"
Cons: "MPG, start/stop feature, Nav system graphics"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"Love my BMW but there are some flaws. 1st the MPG has not been close to advertised. I often find myself filling up at the gas pumps. 2nd the graphics on the navigation system are very outdated and hard to follow. Buy one without the nav and just get a portable one. 3rd thank goodness I can turn the stop/start feature off. The start-ups seem very harsh and violent in this car. I owned a Prius and the start/stop feature there was seamless. The I-drive is a little confusing but i'm sure I will master that over time as I have only had it about 2 months now. I can say nothing but good things about the vehicle except for the above mentioned things. This thing can move, acceleration is great, handling is great, VERY VERY fun to drive and the transmission shifts like a charm. The interior seems to be made of quality materials and is very comfy. Overall I like this vehicle. I am a bells and whistles type of guy but I actually think this is a vehicle thats much better without all the extras. Great entry level BMW."
