overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Every aspect of it is really perfect"

"Love everything about the car. Bought it used with 2007 with 23k. There are NOT enough superlatives. My wife asked how she will ever be satisfied with any other car now. Terrible rear tire wear (3k miles per pair) until they got the rear alignment specs corrected and now going on 6k and expect >10k easily. Oil consumption is part of the design and reasonable as confirmed on the M5 Board. We do avoid winter salt with it. Can't imagine a better ride on the planet after 2 terrific years. It IS the ultimate driving machine."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 68,123
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Fun to drive, Fun to track, comfortable"
Cons: "expensive to maintain, consumes oil, gas mileage"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I love my car. The drive, the handling, the community are second to none. When the warranty is gone however, it can get expensive, and the car can have expensive issues such as SMG and alternator. However, if those are replaced, even factory replacements, it lasts the life of the car. Additionally, oil consumption (TW60) is common for this car, but only if your pushing it (IE Tracks, racing, "spirited driving" etc) You will not drive another vehicle like this, the last of the V10s, and the sound is unmatched. Its one of the most responsive and powerful cars I have ever driven. It will be a sad day if I ever have to get rid of it."

"I have owned a number of "special" vehicles; including multiple BMW M's, Porsche 911's, Lamborghini's, a Ferrari, and an NSX among others and the E60 M5 has been the best all around vehicle to date for me. This model has all the creature comforts of a luxury sedan for daily driving and the exhilarating personality of a sports car for very spirited drives. I get bored with vehicles fairly quickly, but I still enjoy every drive to work or to the grocery after more than two years of ownership. It is highly respected among car enthusiasts, but subdued enough to visit clients. Of course once a client hears the growl of the normally aspirated 507 hp V10 engine they immediately realize it is no ordinary 4-door sedan! A highly recommended vehicle for those that need four doors and a back seat, but remain a [sports] car aficionado."

overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Comfortable, fast, reliable, steering almost as good as a 911"
Cons: "shifting is not always smooth"

"I have owned 18 BMW's and this might be the best. It was the second M5 the dealer got. It needed a battery earlier this year and that is it. The car is quiet, fast, comfortable and drives like a sports car. I love it."
