I owned and sold this car
Reason: throttle tip in issue - My approximate mileage is 12,500

Pros: "looking great exteriror & interior"

Cons: "lag , lag and lag .. driving around town sometimes"

"this lag i have to deal with daily. step on the gas gently car hesitates , too much it launches forward like in a drag race,"

Maintenance Purgatory, Get out your checkbook!!!

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 77,000

Pros: "Good power once you get going, solid feel,"

Cons: "Many EXPENSIVE problems,"

"Have my second 5 series in 6 years, first one totaled in a head on collision, wish I got got away from BMW when I had the chance. Four years later and approximately $5000 poorer in anything from small repairs to oil leaks , to a complete transfer case, As I sit here drafting this warning ( which I have never done about anything before) my 4.4 liter 535 XI is back in the shop for the second time in 10 days running very rough , power loss and engine light on. ( Lord have mercy because BMW DOSE NOT! )"

Cons: "Not trustworthy"

"Jeez.....last week $500 for a new wheel...a small unfixable crack...today a warning light reads "reduced power" and so it goes back to the dealer...where no loaner is found.....this is the last of our four bimmers....our land cruisers are much less troublesome, and very reliable....."

What a disappointment

Pros: "Smooth shifting. Delighful braking."

Cons: "Noisy, rough, flawed design, poor space design"

"The BMW myth was dispelled. Bought a 2011 528i with Sports package. Noisy, uncomfortable, poorly designed interior. The car has had an unnatural vibration/wobbling BMW technicians choosed to ignore. Balanced tires twice to no avail; it feels structural. After one year, dashboard components started to rattle. Electronics are poor. The navigation system is yesterday's and unduly clunky, cumbersome. I find myself having to use my phone's GPS rather than the car's. Pluses: very smooth shifting and powerful, firm braking. First and last BMW for me."

Over all this the best vehicle I've owned.

Pros: "My 2012 550i Does everything well"

Cons: "Done like the cup holders"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I've owned several nice cars, c43, 911 turbo, Shelby gt 500. The 550i is the best daily driver. If you get one buy the dinan stage 2 chip, I love it. It's an m5 and i saved about 55k bad to the bone!"
