Pros: "fun to drive, zippy, great stereo, good gas mileag"

Cons: "froze up"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"This is a fun car to drive- in the SUMMER. Minnesota winters get downright frigid. This car froze up on me in the middle of nowhere on one of those freezing nights. I wasn't expecting this out of a German made vehicle. Apparently BMW wasn't either- the newer models have since been redesigned. My car has been "modified", and I've been assured that I won't have that problem again. There's a handy "limiter" for speed control, which I should have been utilizing one unfortunate day in 2014."

"BMW should of used more metal than plastic in the engine compartment....like pulleys, pumps& pluming. other than that the car is smooth, quiet and quick."

Pros: "fun to drive, good milage, still in style"

Cons: "repair costs"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"We have a family owned 2001 325I. It's been a great car. A few mechanical repairs but nothing out of the ordinary for a fourteen year old car. We have an extended warranty still in place that has been valuable a few times since some repairs can be costly."

Pros: "I paid more than what you value this car at, but.."

Cons: "Just look carefully and do your homework."

"I was shopping for a girlfriend and looked for a couple of months. I found this pre-owned BMW 325Ci Convertible on one of the many lots I visited. I did a thorough search and even spoke to the mechanic who did all of the work on this one owner, Naples, FL car. The Car Fax checked out since I called every available contact listed there and spoke to those people. The car was (and is) a little gem. The G/F and I broke up so I kept it. Having owned a M3 and balancing that car against this one... this is a huge bargain and still a lot of fun to drive. It's no M3 but has plenty of "grunt" and is a blast to drive. It is solid as a rock with no un-expected issues. I've driven it for one year and I care for it so it still looks showroom new, or as close to it as you'd ever, ever expect. Even with the high mileage, this is an amazing little car for the money. The straight six engine is one of the best BMW ever made and it performs quite well for a lower end (BMW)car, yet it is the "Premium/Sport" model and the convertible top is like new, wheels/tires are pristine and the interior is perfect. I have no issues with this car... but I looked at a lot of them before finding this one.I also preferred the look/design of this year to newer versions so that was a consideration. I think this is a total "keeper"! I suggest you spend more time than you thought when considering this "vintage", but there doesn't seem to be any major mechanical malfunctions in this model that will have you sleepless."
