The economy and the auto industry have seen better days, certainly, but the show must go on. Even if the 2009 Detroit Auto Show isn't shaping up to be the spectacle it's been in recent years, it's still the biggest auto show in the world's largest
car market. This year, the list of must-see vehicles includes the next-generation
Toyota Prius and
Honda Insight hybrids, the production version of the Fisker Karma and a radically transformed
Ford Taurus. Others to check out include the new
BMW Z4 Roadster, a sharp-looking
Volvo S60 Concept and the new
MINI Cooper Convertible, which logs the number of miles driven with the top down. The GM contingent includes second-generation iterations of the
Cadillac SRX, Chevy Equinox and
Buick LaCrosse, plus the new Chevy Cruze compact car. Of course, we're still trying to pry our eyes and imaginations off the outrageous
Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss. Follow the link at left for more.
