I own this car - My approximate mileage is 65,000
overall rating 7 of 10rating detailsPros: "Fun to drive, steering, AWD for winter driving"
Cons: "gas, maintenance costs"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6
"You have to know what you are getting into - a REALLY fun car to drive that will be in the shop and at the gas station all the time. Beats BMW M3 in value and comparable in performance AWD for the winters. If you can get over the maintenance and gas costs, you'll love this car like I have."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 65,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Fun to drive, sleeper, practical, comfortable"
Cons: "Expensive to own, no exotic looks"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"Drives like a dream, plenty quick, handles well, doesn't attract any attention at all, and very comfortable inside. Reliability is not too bad for a Euro car, but be aware when buying that this is a very low production volume car, and European as well, so parts will be expensive and most jobs are not possible in your driveway unless you are a pro mechanic and already have experience working on this car. If you're buying, buy one in very good condition and with a thorough service history - buying a cheap one will land you in a position I have seen MANY times - with a car that's broken and undriveable in just a few months, and stuck with either selling a dead car or paying $5k-$10k to get it back on the road. Also, unless you are a Euro mechanic, strongly consider the $3k-$4k for an extended warranty, as it will pay itself back quickly. Don't buy one with high mileage and/or without a thorough service history, as they are expensive to maintain and some owners do not take head of this fact. Also, when in doubt, find a dealership you can trust; some parts of this car are too complicated for even a good Euro shop to work on. Overall, if you can afford to buy a nice one and can afford to maintain it (remember, this is a $50,000 German luxury sports car), then by all means BUY IT! You won't see many on the road or for sale. As long as you're not looking for the boy racer flare of a red Corvette, this car will do everything you want (including keep up with that Corvette)."

Cons: "poor gas mileage - that's the only detractor"

"Perhaps the perfect car - so fun to drive. Engine sounds unbelievable. Avant gives you plenty of room. Quattro makes it the year round sports car."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 66,000
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "Exhasut note, torque"
Cons: "Reliability, maintenance costs, fuel economy"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 4
"I bought my S4 cabriolet a year ago and it has been such a love/hate relationship. Got a good deal on a used model with just over 50K miles on it. Since then I have replaced the alternator ($1550) and convertible module and locking mechanism ($2805). The gas mileage is atrocious, I average 14mpg and if driven hard I get 8mpg. But, when the top is working, this is one of the most fun cars to drive (and I've owned 9). The S4 will cruise at 120 and you don't even realize it. The exhaust note is incredible, and all 302 torques will toss you into the back seat. The manual transmission is quick and responsive as well. If you can afford to dish out around $4000 a year in maintenance and over $3K in fuel a year, the S4 is amazing. Don't even consider it if you want reliability, cheap repair bills, or fuel economy. If more people drove S4's we would have really warm winters haha"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 70,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "good value, very solid german car, amazing perform"
Cons: "the cup holder isn't the best, but who cares!"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"The car is amazing in every way possible. Its like driving a porsche with 4 doors and cargo room. THe power is amazing, the growl is awesome, and the quattro drives thru everything. I wish they still made a wagon version, because I need a larger car now, and may have to trade this one in soon to get more room; maybe I'll wait until they make the wagon again! You won't regret the purchase!"
