The 2012 Acura TSX sedan adds a new Special Edition Package consisting of several exterior design upgrades, unique red interior illumination, and microfiber seat inserts with red stitching. The TSX Sport Wagon replaces its spare tire with a tire repair kit, greatly increasing its under-floor storage capacity.
For 2011, Acura makes a number of changes aimed at quieting the TSX's cabin and improving fuel economy. Along with an all-new Sport Wagon addition (reviewed separately), the TSX receives revised front and rear styling, as well as a number of interior upgrades. An improved Technology Package includes a new LED backlit navigation screen, Song by Voice user interface and 15 GB of downloadable storage space on the system's 60 GB hard drive.
The big news for 2010 is the addition of a 3.5-liter V6 model to the TSX family. The V6 delivers its 280 horsepower through a five-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, which can be operated by either tapping the shift lever or via a set of steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters. The TSX V6 also receives 18-inch wheels, a stiffer suspension, upgraded brakes, one-touch ignition key start and Acura's new Active Sound Control system.
The Acura TSX is an appealing luxury sedan that doesn't carry a luxury price tag. Straddling the line between a compact and midsize car, the 2014 TSX faces stiff competition in the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS, Audi A4, Infiniti Q50 and Cadillac ATS. Unlike those rivals, the Acura is front-wheel drive only and thus may not appeal to enthusiast drivers, but the TSX slots in at a lower price than them all. The TSX boasts dynamic driving manners, and with the optional V6 dishes up considerable muscle. For those desiring extra space, the TSX is available as a sleek station wagon that proves the words "sleek" and "station wagon" can indeed be friends. Also not to be overlooked is Acura's reputation for reliability.
